Smart groups are built with search strategies and are dynamically updated as you add references to and edit references in the library.
Note: You cannot create a smart group when an Online Search group is displayed, whether you are showing Integrated Mode or Online Search Mode.
To create a smart group:
Display the set of references that you would like to search. This would typically be All References.
From the Groups menu, select Create Smart Group. A search dialog appears.
Enter a name for the group, then your search strategy, and then click Create.
The Smart Group search dialog works the same as the regular Search panel. If you need more information about how to use the Search dialog, see Searching for References.
The new smart group will be added to the next group set after the one being searched. If you are searching all references, it will be in the top-most group set. You can drag-and-drop the new smart group to any group set.
